Community Solutions (CS) has recently begun a collaborative partnership with the High Desert Education Services District (HD-ESD), Regional Achievement Collaborative (RAC), Restorative Justice Coalition of Oregon (RJCO), and several Oregon Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRC) to bring Restorative Justice (RJ) to Central Oregon schools. Based on district-wide needs to help students achieve from cradle-to-career, CS is formulating a RJ 'Concept of Service' unique to our region that brings education, facilitation, and mediation components to students, families, teachers, counselors, and administrators. Developed as a supporting strategy to Positive Behaviors Intervention Systems (PBIS) programs already in place, our RJ programs are intended to enable, influence, or intervene when youth need us most. A cornerstone component for the program will include our convening of a regional RJ Collaborative that brings together educators, public and private organizations, law enforcement and others to focus RJ efforts regionally. Stay tuned for more on our RJ Programs under development.
