Community Solutions (CS) is taking the next step towards developing a Restorative Justice (RJ) pilot program for a Deschutes County based school district. The soon-to-be-convened Restorative Justice Advisory Group (RJAG) is a group of volunteers temporarily formed to review and discuss a wide range of issues related to the development of just such a program. Meeting with the Executive Director once monthly, the initial RJAG meeting will be Tuesday May 29th beginning at 11 am in the large conference room adjacent to the CS offices.
Community Solutions (CS) continues to improve its ability to provide facilitation services to community groups. This past year we've taken on seven community cases requiring different degrees of facilitation skill. These included two State, two County, and three City related cases. We also take on facilitation work for organizational issues dealing with personnel, special projects, and strategic development.
Community Solutions (CS) will serve as a pilot center for Online Dispute Resolution or ODR. ODR programs have been used in various forms for several years, especially in commercial online product and service disputes. Community Solutions will leverage this technology and apply it to our dispute resolution needs.
Community Solutions (CS) will participate in Oregon's USDA Certified Agricultural Mediation Program (OCAMP), developed and managed by the Six Rivers Dispute Resolution Center in Hood River, Oregon. Along with the Eastern Oregon Mediation Center in La Grande, Oregon, our mediators will work in partnership to implement OCAMP in Central Oregon counties.
Community Solutions (CS) has recently begun a collaborative partnership with the High Desert Education Services District (HD-ESD), Regional Achievement Collaborative (RAC), Restorative Justice Coalition of Oregon (RJCO), and several Oregon Community Dispute Resolution Centers (CDRC) to bring Restorative Justice (RJ) to Central Oregon schools.
